Whole Foods' first Detroit store is opening today and Supermarket News has got some details on how it will differ from the upscale grocer's current locations. The Detroit unit will measure 21,000 sq. ft., contain two levels, including mezzanine, and offer a large selection of private-label and prepackaged foods, SN reports.
Todays' sales specials include breaded fish sticks and potato chips, for instance, in addition to Fuji apples and ground bison.
Whole Foods plans to open similar stores in New Orleans and Chicago.
