Sun Capital Buying Boston Market

Sun Capital, which recently closed on its previously announced acquisition of Limited isn't taking any breaks. News just broke that the firm has agreed to acquire Boston Market from McDonald's Corp.

McDonald's Corp., the world's largest restaurant company, will sell its Boston Market chain to buyout firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. to focus on hamburgers.

The transaction will be completed in the third quarter, McDonald's said today in a U.S. regulatory filing. McDonald's spokesman Walt Riker declined to give terms of the sale.

The company said it is selling Boston Market, a chain of 630 restaurants serving roast chicken and meat loaf, to focus on expanding McDonald's sales globally. Oak Brook, Illinois-based McDonald's last year spun off Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc.
