Lowe Starts Third Phase of 1M-SF Office Complexlowe

SAN DIEGO—Lowe Enterprises has begun work on an 118,500-sq.-ft. Registrar of Voters Headquarters, part of a planned one-million-sq.-ft. office complex here in the Kearny Mesa community.

The $73 million project on Overland Avenue will include Registrar of Voters staff offices, election ballot processing capabilities, warehouse production space and public art installation. This is the third phase of the County Operations Center and Annex redevelopment.

The 47-acre project is being developed in multiple phases. The second phase, completed in August 2012, included two 150,000-sq.-ft. four-story office buildings, and a 15,000-sq.-ft. conference center and cafeteria. Phase one of the project, which was completed in October 2010. Two additional four-story office buildings, similar to the buildings in the prior phases, and another parking structure will be built in future phases.

Mike McNerney, senior vice president with Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group, said in a statement that this voters building is an important facility for the residents. “The building will be state-of-the-art at all levels creating an efficient work environment and providing ample space for the processing of ballots and vote counting on election night,” he said.
