Field Development Group’s Madox Earns LEED Silver Certification

JERSEY CITY, NJ—Madox, a multifamily rental building located at 198 Van Vorst Street in Jersey City, N.J., has earned LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Developed by Field Development Group, Madox is a seven-story and is the first residential project to be LEED-certified in Jersey City.

Madox includes 131 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes that include features that conserve energy, increase water efficiency and improve air quality. The building’s rooftop deck provides an outdoor recreation area for residents, while also controlling storm water runoff and generating power with PV solar array panels and vegetation. The property also includes electric car-charging stations.

“By closely following the USGBC guidelines for developing sustainable buildings and utilizing an abundance of green and recycled materials and innovative energy conserving practices, Madox is an excellent example of smart growth,” said James Caulfield, Jr., principal of Fields Development Group.

On-site amenities include a keyless entry system, 24-hour doorman, gym, a lobby lounge with a library, business center and lounge with a children’s play area. Madox is located within walking distance to public transportation, as well as other neighborhood amenities.
