FROM HAUTE COUTURE TO H&M

Fan-wielding fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld signed a deal last month to create a line of clothes for Swedish clothing chain H&M. Known for his ultra-pricey designs for Chanel and Fendi, the German-born Lagerfeld is the latest high-fashion designer to link his name with a mass merchandiser. Isaac Mizrahi, in a similar deal, has produced a hot-selling fashion line for Target. Lagerfeld's frocks will debut in H&M's 991 stores this November.
