More than 1,200 people attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the reopening of Macerich's renovated Fashion Fair mall in Fresno, Calif., in November, putting the ceremony in the Guinness Book of World Records. Participants, all of whom received a pair of souvenir scissors, arrived as early as 5:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremony. About 18,000 shoppers visited the improved Fashion Fair that day.
