AI of Chicago Selects General Contractor for Photography Lab Update

CHICAGO—J.C. Anderson Inc. has been selected to renovate 10,000 sq. ft. of space to the photography lab and media room at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Located on the second floor at 280 S. Columbus Drive, J.C. Anderson Inc. will be making improvements to the school’s media center and classrooms, including the construction of a new, large photography lab. The project will also include new finishes, epoxy flooring and glass sidelights throughout.

Founded as the Chicago Academy of Design in 1866, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago provides degrees at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate levels across a dynamic spectrum of study.

J.C. Anderson Inc. expects to complete construction of the media center in mid-August prior to the school’s fall session. Tom Bean, president of construction services, is the project executive for J.C. Anderson Inc. and Joe Maguire is the project manager. Architectural services are being provided by Juan Gabriel Moreno Architects.
