A&G Realty to Manage Fashion Bug Lease Resolutions for 285 Stores

Charming Shoppers Inc. appointed A&G Realty Partners to exclusive manage the resolution of all remaining Fashion Bug leases in the United States. Currently, 258 Fashion Bug leases remain available.

The stores range from 5,000 sq. ft. to 12,000 sq. ft. and are located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Wyoming.

After purchasing Charming Shoppes Inc. in June of this year, Ascena Retail Group made the decision to cease the operation of the Fashion Bug business by early 2013.

GA Keen to Serve as Bankruptcy Advisor to Shoe Store Chain

GA Keen Realty Advisors LLC, a division of Great American Group Inc., has been appointed as a nationwide bankruptcy advisor for 150 Bakers and Wild Pair shoe stores.

The stores range in size from 1,254 sq. ft. to over 4,000 sq. ft. and are located in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

TJ Maxx, Applebee’s Lease Space at Bronx Retail Project

Simone Development Cos. signed three new retailers at Throggs Neck Shopping Center, a 285,000-sq.-ft. power center in the Bronx.

TJ Maxx signed a 28,417-sq.-ft. lease at the property, Applebee’s signed a 6,640-sq.-ft. lease and MetroOptics Eyewear signed a lease for 4,131 sq. ft.

Miles Mahony, of Ripco Real Estate, represented Simone Development in the transactions. Simone plans to complete the project in early 2014.

IKEA Submits Plans for Expanded California Store

IKEA submitted plans to the City of Burbank, Calif. to replace and expand its current 242,000-sq.-ft. store in the city. The proposed new store would encompass 470,000 sq. ft. of space and more than 1,700 parking spaces. If approved, it is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.

Fairway Partners LLC, a Central Virginia licensee for Ashley Furniture, signed a 30,028-sq.-ft. lease at Laburnum Station Shopping Center in Richmond, Val. Read F. Goode Jr., of S. L. Nusbaum Realty Co., represented the tenant in the transaction.

Fitness 19 signed a lease for a 10,977-sq.-ft. location at The Broadway at Surf in Chicago. Jaime Platt and Marget Graham, of Mid-America Asset Management Inc., represented the landlord in the transaction. Allen Joffe, of Baum Realty, represented the tenant.

S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. hired Tom Dunn to join its commercial brokerage and development division. Previously, Dunn served as senior director for retail properties with GVA Advantis. While there he was responsible for the sales, leasing and marketing of more than 1.3 million sq. ft. of community and grocery-anchored shopping centers.
