Goodlettsville, Tenn. – Locally based Dollar General Corp. appointed Donald Shaffer as president and chief operating officer, effective June 1, 2001. Previously, Shaffer spent 30 years with Sears Roebuck and its affiliated companies, including serving as president and CEO of Sears Canada and chairman and CEO of Western Auto Supply Co.
