Kmart voices energy concerns

Washington, D.C. – Johnny Duke, national director of facilities/energy for Troy, Mich.-based Kmart Corp., recently testified before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality in preparation for rolling blackouts in New York and the Midwest this summer.

His recommendations included promotion of nuclear power, state-sponsored conservation incentives for consumers, and a policy of preventing generators or marketers of electricity to be in the business of transmission or distribution.
