Seibu renovates major outlet

Tokyo – Locally based Seibu Department Stores Co. recently announced plans to spend $40.4 million over the next three years to renovate a major outlet in the Shibuya district of Tokyo. Seibu wants to convert the food section in the basement of the store to a shoe department. The Japanese retailer plans to look to its U.S. partner, Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc., to seek footwear expertise.
