Wal-Mart tests larger Neighborhood Market concept

Bentonville, Ark. – Locally based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is combining elements of its Supercenter format with that of its Neighborhood Market concept in Plano, Texas. The 114,000-sq.-ft. store is more than double the size of the typical Neighborhood Market shop and a little more than half the size of the average Supercenter.

The Texas store also features a drive-though pharmacy, full food and general merchandise. However, the store does not have a garden center or sporting goods department.
