PRESS RELEASE: Jones Lang LaSalle Closes 49,293 SF Headquarters Lease with Axiall Corp.

ATLANTA — Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that it has closed a long-term, 49,293-square-foot lease with Axiall Corporation, an integrated chemicals and buildings products company, at Northpark Town Center in North Atlanta, in the Central Perimeter submarket. Formed earlier this year with the merger of Georgia Gulf Corp. and PPG Industries’ chemicals business, Axiall will establish its corporate headquarters in the 586,256-square-foot 400 Northpark building.

Axiall expects to move into 400 Northpark in December 2013. The company’s relocation and expansion within the Atlanta market is expected to create between 50 and 100 jobs.

JLL Vice Presidents Eric Vayle and Keene Reese represented Axiall in the transaction. Richard Nash, Senior Vice President at CBRE, represented the landlord.

“Due to the company’s staff and business growth, along with its new brand identity, Axiall was looking for an improved corporate headquarters that would provide state-of-the-art space and enhance visibility,” Vayle said. “This lease provides Axiall Class A space in one of the premier office campuses in metro Atlanta, ensuring that the company has room for its ongoing growth. Axiall’s decision to maintain its corporate headquarters in the Central Perimeter submarket also reinforces its status as a leading destination for corporate headquarters in the Southeast U.S.”

Axiall currently is located in the Central Perimeter submarket, where it occupies 24,000 square feet at 115 Perimeter Center Place. In addition to the Northpark transaction, JLL assisted Axiall in its simultaneous effort to establish a regional presence in Pittsburgh with a 25,000-square-foot office lease.

“We have worked hard to find Class A office space that is appropriate for our larger company and that meets the needs of our employees,” said James Worrell, vice president of corporate administration and communications.  “When we combined our corporate requirements with the feedback we received from employees during the site review process, the Northpark location was the clear winner for our Atlanta headquarters.”

Worrell said that Northpark Town Center’s strategic, central location will be a great asset to Axiall’s business operations and employees, who will benefit from the business campus’s extensive amenities and direct access to the complex from Georgia 400 and the Sandy Springs MARTA station.

“We look forward to growing our business and solidifying our new brand identity at Northpark,” Worrell said.

The 18-story 400 Northpark office tower features two garden office levels above a five-level parking garage. Building amenities include a conference center, restaurant, health club, news stand/shop, and numerous other state-of-the-art amenities.
