PRESS RELEASE: Pinnacle Property Group Opens 2 New Offices In Texas - Talks Successful Property Tax Protests

Fort Worth, TX - October 7, 2013 – Pinnacle Property Group (PPG) announces the opening of 2 new offices to serve the property tax consulting needs of commercial real estate owners throughout the state of Texas.  Headquartered in Fort Worth and with an office in Houston, PPG is founded by Dan McDonald of McDonald Law Firm, a veteran attorney in the state of TX, whose litigation experience spans 30 years and includes a proven track record of providing dramatic reductions in taxable value for clients through tax litigation.

Recently, McDonald Law Firm together with Pinnacle Property Group successfully negotiated and settled a reduction in taxable value of $3.0M, or roughly 30%, on a 5-property retail portfolio located in Tarrant County. Another recent and notable settlement included an overall tax value reduction of $2.6M, or roughly 71%, on a vacant land parcel located in Hidalgo County.

“What really differentiates us from our competitors is having the ability and willingness to litigate in-house on behalf of our clients, if necessary. This not only allows us to be more aggressive in our valuations, it also ensures a quick and, most often, successful outcome for our clients. Counsel is a service that we provide to our clients at no additional cost,” says Ana Galindo-Weed, VP of Business Development.

January 1 marks the beginning of the appraisal year with Notice of Values being mailed on or near April 1. The deadline to file a protest with the taxing authority is typically May 31. PPG is looking forward to the tax protest season and according the Leanne Rice-Baker, VP of Property Valuation, Pinnacle "understands the market and the process. While the tax laws may not change much from year to year, markets conditions and other key factors that help determine value, do. The commercial real estate market seems to be improving and as a result, property taxes are going up. We’re here to ensure that the increases are appropriate and fair by evaluating properties on an individual basis; something the Appraisal Districts just aren’t able to do in their mass appraisal process.”
