Reis, NREI Form Strategic Marketing Alliance

Real estate research firm Reis Inc. and Penton, a leading, independent, business-to-business media company and publisher of National Real Estate Investor, have formed a a strategic marketing alliance.

Through this collaboration, NREI will promote Reis's product aimed at smaller enterprises and individual practitioners, ReisReports, to its audience of more than 100,000 commercial real estate professionals. The companies will also participate in joint webinars focused on specific local markets.

"Together with Reis, we are in a perfect position to deliver timely and exclusive information to our community of over 100,000 investors, developers, brokers and financial executives and continue to lead the way as the most important commercial real estate content provider in the industry," Jonathan A. Schein, practice leader for National Real Estate Investor, said in a statement.

"This partnership helps us extend our research to potential new customers," Aziz Akin, Reis vice president of business development, said in a statement. "Penton has cultivated a strong community of commercial real estate professionals and we are thrilled to partner with them. In addition, the webinars will allow us to showcase our coverage of commercial real estate in the 200 metropolitan areas that Reis monitors, engaging real estate professionals in their local markets."

The partnership with Reis enables NREI subscribers to gain access to data long considered the industry standard for commercial lenders and other financial institutions, now packaged and priced in a way to make it more accessible to other market segments. ReisReports provides rent, sales and construction comparable reports for metropolitan areas across the United States. These reports cover multiple commercial property types, including apartment buildings, office buildings and retail shopping centers in up to 200 markets. The service also includes quarterly trend analyses, reporting on asking and effective rents, absorption and vacancy rates, and new construction across those metropolitan areas and their submarkets.

The Penton partnership follows a similar partnership with the Appraisal Institute, announced by Reis in March. "Broadening our reach to new communities of users was a key part of our 2012 strategy," Akin said a statement. "Partnering with market leaders further promotes the Reis brand to a wider audience of professionals with interests in commercial real estate."
