St. Louis Real Estate Veteran Dies

Theodore Martin, 83, a founding partner of St. Louis, Mo.-based commercial real estate firm Colliers Turley Martin Tucker, died Feb. 24 at home following a lengthy illness.

Martin was a force in the St. Louis real estate scene for a half century, joining Stifel Realty Co. in 1950 and founding his own firm, Martin and Associates, seven years later. Martin and Associates merged with Turley Corp. in the early 1970s and is the same company now known as Colliers Turley Martin Tucker, one of the largest commercial brokerages in St. Louis.

In 2003, the company established the Theodore R.P. Martin Scholarship Fund to provide academic scholarships for employee’s children.

A private burial is planned, and the family requests memorials be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in St. Louis or to Hope Happens, a St. Louis organization which supports research to cure neurological disorders.
