Lori Schneider is not just one of the top female investment specialists in the Southeast region for Marcus & Millichap. She's one of the top investment specialists at the firm, period. She is the first woman at the Encino, Calif.-based commercial real estate services provider to earn the title of senior vice president of investments.
Across her 18-year career, Fort Lauderdale-based Schneider has successfully closed transactions in 19 states and Puerto Rico, and racked up an impressive list of sales awards. She is the No. 1 agent for Marcus & Millichap in the Southeast across all asset types, and she consistently ranks as one of the firm's top five retail agents nationwide. Schneider specializes in the sale of single-tenant retail and shopping centers throughout the United States.
She works closely with institutional and private investors, and is known for in-depth research and her knowledge of market conditions. Despite formidable economic obstacles curtailing investment sales activity, Schneider has closed 31 transactions over the past 18 months.
She credits much of her success to a sharp focus on building strong client relationships and a knack for problem solving.
“I think my biggest ongoing achievement is my clients' loyalty,” says Schneider, whose role includes being senior director for both Marcus & Millichap's national retail group and net-leased properties group.
Client relationships have served as an important source of repeat business and created a vital pipeline of for-sale properties in a market where available high-quality real estate remains in short supply. Schneider fosters relationships by working closely with clients to help them plan and execute their investment strategies.
“I do spend an inordinate amount of time on client analysis or education.” That approach builds long-term relationships rather than simply chasing transactions, she notes.
Problem-solving on behalf of her clients has helped generate business in the current difficult market, she says. “The thing that I enjoy most, and that hopefully is a benefit to my clients, is that I'm always thinking about what it is that I can do to help them, or a different way of analyzing a situation.”
