Columbus, Ga. attracts a new shopping center

Construction is scheduled to start in October on Columbus Park Crossing, a 100-acre, 750,000 sq. ft. village-style retail center. Atlanta-based Ben Carter Properties is developing the retail facility. The center will have national retail stores, themed restaurants and a movie cinema. Construction is slated for completion in fall 2001.

Located adjacent to J.R. Allen Parkway and Veterans Parkway interchange, Columbus Park Crossing is Phase one of Columbus Park, a 350-acre mixed-use facility that will be developed over a 10-to-20-year period. When complete the development will have office and retail space, residential units and a park.
