The Haskell Company has completed a 37,000 sq. ft. medical office building for HealthAmerica at the Emerson Medical Plaza in Jacksonville, Fla. Shands Jacksonville, a private, not-for-profit hospital affiliated with the University of Florida College of Medicine, leases the property. Haskell served as the design/build firm for the medical office building. It houses a full-service imaging center, a women's center and doctors' offices.
The Malzoni Group, a Sao Paulo, Brazil-based real estate and retail firm, has purchased the 12-story, 62,500 sq. ft. Hammacher Schlemmer building in New York City for $34 million. Plans for the building, built in 1926, have not been announced. Hammacher Schlemmer is approaching the end of its long-term net lease. Prudential Douglas Elliman represented The Malzoni Group, and CB Richard Ellis represented the seller.
BASF Corp. has signed a long-term lease to occupy a new 325,000 sq. ft. office building that will be developed by Rockefeller Group Development Corp. at The Green at Florham Park in Florham Park, N.J. Construction will begin in July with completion and occupancy expected by mid- 2012. It will be home to BASF's North American headquarters, which has been based in Florham Park since 2004; and it will attempt to gain LEED Platinum certification.
