First Union Real Estate Investments W. Geoffrey Jewett has joined Cleveland-based First Union Real Estate Investments as senior vice president and director of investments and acquisitions. He will contribute to corporate strategic planning and see to fruition a number of previously initiated acquisitions. Previously, Jewett served as vice president, asset management-western region, for Santa Fe, N.M.-based Security Capital Pacific.

ERE Yarmouth ERE Yarmouth (ERE), New York, a product of the merger between Equitable Real Estate Investment Management and The Yarmouth Group, has appointed the senior management team of its retail group. Graham Bond, former president of Lend Lease Development (the parent company of ERE Yarmouth), has been named senior executive vice president. Gregory Greenfield, former president and chief operating officer for ERE's Compass Retail Inc. affiliate, has been named executive vice president in charge of development, acquisitions, and project and portfolio management. Bob Welanetz, former executive vice president for The Yarmouth Group, will retain the same title and will oversee asset and property management.

Equity Investment Group Scott Werbel has joined Atlanta-based Equity Investment Group as vice president of acquisitions, responsible for overseeing acquisitions for the firm's southeast region. Previously, he served as sales and marketing director for Atlanta-based Lennar Partners.

Goody's Family Clothing Inc. Stan Latacha has been appointed senior vice president of advertising and marketing for Goody's Family Clothing Inc., Knoxville, Tenn. He will be responsible for concept development and financial management for the company's marketing programs. Previously, Latacha was senior vice president of marketing and advertising for Cleveland-based OfficeMax Inc.

MEPC American Properties Phil Pearson has been named regional vice president of leasing for Dallas-based MEPC American Properties, where he will be responsible for leasing multiple MEPC centers. Previously, he served as vice president of leasing for Dallas-based Schroeder.

Hunneman Commercial Co. Joseph M. Mardo has joined Boston-based Hunneman Commercial Co. as vice president. He will be responsible for the retail group's sale and leasing of space south of Boston and in Rhode Island. Previously, Mardo was vice president of retail real estate for Providence, R.I.-based Paramount Properties Group.

Robert Young Associates David M. Varon has been promoted from account director to vice president for Dallas-based Robert Young Associates (RYA). He will continue work on his existing account roster.

In RYA's Dallas office, Robert N. Coker has been named vice president and design director. He will manage the Dallas design staff and assist in project design. Previously, Coker served as senior designer.

GMAC Commercial Mortgage Elisa George has been named senior vice president for the structured finance group of Horsham, Pa.-based GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM). She will oversee the company's securitization of mortgage loans. Prior to joining GMACCM in 1996, George was a director with Standard and Poor's structured finance group.

Tom MacManus has been named senior vice president for GMACCM's correspondent lending group. He will be responsible for sourcing, structuring and acquiring commercial real estate debt and equity investments from third parties. He was most recently senior vice president of Bluebell, Pa.-based Fidelity Bond & Mortgage Co.

OfficeMax Inc. Cleveland-based OfficeMax Inc. has appointed three new executives, all of whom were previously with Twinsburg, Ohio-based Revco Discount Drug Stores. Jim Mastrian has been named senior executive vice president of merchandise/ marketing; John Pollock has been named divisional vice president of merchandising; and Paul Grilli has been named divisional vice president of merchandise planning.

OfficeMax also has named Jeffrey Rutherford as its chief financial officer. He served previously as the company's senior vice president of finance. The four appointments were intended to strengthen corporate merchandising and marketing, and to realign the responsibilities of the finance group.

Transwestern Property Co. Steve Williamson has joined the Dallas office of Houston-based Transwestern Property Co. as senior vice president. He will be responsible for the company's retail division tenant representation, site selection and shopping center investment sales initiatives. Most recently, Williamson was president of Dallas-based Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate Inc.

Cousins Properties Inc. Kelly H. Barrett has been promoted to senior vice president of finance for Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Inc., where she will be responsible for all aspects of financial management. Previously, she served as the company's vice president and controller.
