Symmes Maini & McKee Associates Michael K. Powers has been elected president and CEO of Cambridge, Mass.-based SMMA, an architecture, engineering, planning and interior design firm. Powers, former executive vice president and managing principle of SMMA's headquarters, will be in charge of the company's business, planning and operations. The promotion of J. Timothy Grobleski to executive vice president from vice president was also announced. In addition, he will maintain his previous CFO position. In his new role, Grobleski will be responsible for leading the finance and business operations of the company.

WPG Design Group Robert C. Krone has been named president of New York-based WPG Design Group. Krone, a 20-year veteran of the architecture and design industry, has been with the firm since 1992. The former senior associate will be responsible for overseeing general business development and corporate accounts.

Welsh Companies Tony Navarro has been appointed president of Minneapolis-based Welsh Investment Co. In his new position, he will oversee property acquisitions and real estate development while focusing on industrial, office, retail and multifamily projects in the Midwest and Florida. Most recently, Navarro served as senior vice president of finance and sales for Opus Cos.

NACORE International Philip D. Neuer has been elected to a two-year term as president of The Institute for Corporate Real Estate, the education division of West Palm Beach, Fla-based NACORE. Currently, Neuer is executive vice president and general counsel of Safer Development and Management Co. and its affiliated textiles manufacturing group, which includes Safer Prints Inc., Kutter Prints Inc. and Meadows Knitting Corp.

CB Richard Ellis Glen Esnard was appointed senior vice president, Southern California regional manager - Investment Properties Group for Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis. In his new role, Esnard will direct all aspects of the company's investment sales business in southern California, including business development and strategic planning. Most recently, the 16-year employee of CB Richard Ellis served as managing director for the San Fernando Valley office.

Cencor Realty Services Raymond Poche has been named executive vice president of development of Dallas-based Cencor Realty Services. In his new role, Poche will be responsible for an existing shopping center portfolio, new development and acquisition. Previously, Poche served as vice president with the Dallas office of Center America Realty Trust.

Combined Properties Inc. Hal A. Vasvari has been named president of Washington, D.C.-based Combined Properties Inc. With more than 20 years of experience in the shopping center industry, Vasvari most recently served as COO with Federal Realty Investment Trust in Rockville, Md., and has been active on various committees of the International Council of Shopping Centers. In his new position, Vasvari will direct daily operations and implement plans for Combined Properties' future growth.

Rockwood Realty Associates LLC Daniel J. McNulty has been named president of New York-based Rockwood Realty Associates LLC. In this new role, the former managing director will supervise the continued expansion of the firm's investment sales and consulting businesses, as well as the development of an office in Los Angeles.

Smithy Braedon ONCOR International Dennis C. Murphy has been appointed president of Washington D.C.-based Smithy Braedon ONCOR International. In this position, Murphy will oversee the management and administration of all operating divisions, while maintaining his responsibilities in marketing and business development. Previously, Murphy served as senior vice president for the firm.

Supervalu Inc. John Domino has been promoted from vice president of real estate for Minneapolis-based Supervalu Inc.'s New England region to the newly created position of vice president of retail real estate. Domino will be responsible for creating and implementing the company's retail real estate growth strategy.

North American Properties John Weaver has joined Atlanta-based North American Properties as vice president and director of construction. Previously, Weaver served as principle-in-charge of the architectural firm Weaver & Associates. In addition, Becky Miller joined the firm as development manager. A 12-year veteran of the real estate industry, Miller has held positions with New Market Development and Cousins Properties.
