First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. The board of directors has named Michael W. Brennan president and CEO. Brennan's appointment comes with the resignation of Michael T. Tomasz, who is leaving the company to pursue other personal and business interests. Brennan is a co-founder and director and previously served as COO. He has 19 years of industrial real estate experience.

Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts This Atlanta-based hotel and resort company has promoted Michael J. Corr to president for the United States, Canada and Caribbean divisions. Based in Atlanta, he will have direct responsibility for the profitability of 70 hotels and resorts within the region. Prior to his appointment, Corr was senior vice president of operations and service of Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resorts-Americas' operation and was responsible for field service training and standards compliance. Corr brings with him more than 20 years of experience to this new division of Bass Hotels & Resorts.

The Richard E. Jacobs Group With the departure of Barry D. Kaufmann, Martin J. Cleary has resumed his role and responsibilities as this Cleveland, Ohio-based firm's president and COO. Cleary, joined the firm in 1981 and had served as president until earlier this year. Most recently he was the firm's vice chairman. Kaufman, who was president and COO, left to pursue other interests.

Opus North Corp. The board of directors of Opus North Corp. has appointed Jack Crocker as president and COO, succeeding James Nygaard. Crocker will be responsible for real estate development, design, construction and property management. He was initially with Opus from 1982 to 1984 as a real estate director, and rejoined Opus in 1991. In 1996 he was named president of Opus National LLC.

Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co. Commonwealth of Houston has named John A. Magness president. Previously, he served as vice president of marketing for itsTexas-based subsidiary. In his new position he will serve concurrently as vice president of Commonwealth Land Title. Before joining Commonwealth, he was president and CEO of Herrin/Magness Properties.

Kensington Realty Advisors Inc. Philip L. Van Syckle has joined the firm as vice president. Van Syckle will head a new division that will create investment opportunities for tax-exempt investors through the acquisition of real estate operating companies. Involved in the industry for more than 30 years prior to joining Kensington, Van Syckle was involved in real estate with the State of Michigan Pension Funds.

Jupiter Realty Corp. William J. Carter has been named executive vice president of acquisitions, of this Chicago-based national real estate organization, with responsibility for acquisitions and development from the company's Atlanta office. Carter has expertise in all types of real estate including feasibility studies, appraisals, commercial and residential lending, asset management, workouts and liquidation and debt and equity financing. Prior to joining Jupiter, Carter operated his own company, de Morgan Capital Corp.

Guaranty Federal Bank F.S.B. With 18 years' experience in the banking industry, Deborah Laycock has been named vice president of the Senior Housing Division of this Dallas-based Real Estate Lending Group. She will be responsible for relationship management and loan origination of senior housing projects throughout the country. Prior to joining Guaranty, Laycock was a senior manager at Price Waterhouse, LLP and a principal at Rogers Alliance Inc.

Kaufman and Broad Multi-Housing Group Inc. This Long Beach, Calif.-based company has appointed J. Michael Sugrue director of acquisitions for the southern U.S. region. Sugrue will be responsible for overseeing all acquisitions, financing and project development activities on behalf of KBMHG in Texas and other Southern states. Previously, he was president at Paramount Enterprises Inc. and senior vice president with Multi-Family Capital Markets Inc.

Hunt Realty Corp. This Dallas-based real estate corporation has named Laurie Dotter vice president. Dotter worked for Teacher Retirement System of Texas for five years prior to joining Hunt as director of real estate investments. Previously, she was director of financial advisory services for Coopers & Lybrand. Dotter's new responsibilities will include managing a group of existing investments and seeking new investment opportunities.

The Voit Cos. Robin Platt has been promoted to regional operations manager for Los Angeles. Platt, who has more than 16 years' experience, will oversee opera-tions for more than 3 million sq. ft. in the greater Los Angeles area. She will also be responsible for property audits and compliance with standard operating procedures.

Corporate Office Properties With 20 years' experience in the construction management industry, Carl M. Nelson has joined the Corporate Office Services LLC division as senior development manager. Nelson will oversee development and construction activities for office buildings and build-to-suit projects in the Baltimore-Washington area. Nelson was previously with Constellation Real Estate Group as a project manager and supervisor of construction.

CB Richard Ellis James A. Reid has been named executive managing director of this Los Angeles-based firm, investment properties, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is responsible for more than 50 investment property experts in 15 countries. Before this appointment, Reid directed operations in the northeastern United States as senior vice president and regional manager.

Paine/Wetzel Oncor International Matt Rogatz has been named vice president of industrial real estate brokerage of this Chicago-based company. His focus is on Chicago and its suburbs. Rogatz was previously with William Kritt & Company.
