The waiting is finally over for Pittsburgh suburb

Construction is now under way on the long-awaited Mall at Robinson in the Robinson Township, Pa. The future 1.2 million sq. ft. shopping center has been a dream of Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises for 11 years. The Mall at Robinson is located five minutes east of the Pittsburgh International Airport on Parkway West and Highway 60, and is slated for completion in the fall 2001.

With a price tag of $130 million, the mall will ultimately include more than 100 specialty shops and will be anchored by a 199,000 sq. ft. Kaufmann's department store, which opened in 1998 as a free-standing unit; a 141,000 sq. ft. Sears department store; a 147,000 sq. ft. JCPenney department store; and two additional anchors. The mall also will include restaurants, a food court and major national retailers such as The Gap, Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch.
