KKR, RED Legacy Appoint Leasing, Marketing Team for Legends Outlets Kansas City

KKR, RED Legacy Appoint Leasing, Marketing Team for Legends Outlets Kansas City Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. and RED Legacy appointed RED Legacy Executive Vice President of Leasing Chris Speciale and Director of Leasing Lee Ra Johnson as the leasing team for Legends Outlets Kansas City in Kansas City, Kan. In addition, the firms appointed Strategy+Style Marketing Group as the marketing agent for the center. Strategy+Style will be responsible for developing overall marketing strategy for the property, and executing consumer and business-to-business advertising, public relations, social communications and tourism marketing. Currently, Legends Outlets Kansas City serves as home to almost 100 stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Banana Republic Factory Store, Cole Haan and Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store. Talbots Appoints Bialow Real Estate as its Real Estate Rep Talbots Inc. appointed Bialow Real Estate as its real estate representative. Bialow will now handle Talbots’ retail real estate needs nationwide. “It is exciting to collaborate with Talbots on its national real estate strategy,” said Bialow Real Estate Founder and CEO Corey Bialow in a statement. “Talbots is a dynamic multi-channel retailer with a pervasive market presence across the U.S. and Canada, providing our real estate professionals with an excellent opportunity to leverage Bialow Real Estate’s depth of experience in the planning and execution of national retailer real estate programs.” Staples Renews its Contract with SRS Real Estate Partners Staples Inc. has renewed its contract with SRS Real Estate Partners for lease renewal and restructuring services. SRS will continue to provide Staples’ with direct-to-landlord negotiations to renew lease agreements, downsize oversized stores and restructure key lease provisions. Kim Jordan-Miller and Stan Heller are handling this assignment on behalf of SRS. In a separate announcement, SRS Real Estate hired Janie French as senior business development manager in its Dallas headquarters office. In the past, French spent 18 years with Staubach Retail Services, where she focused on business development, research and marketing. Before coming back, she worked as director of marketing and communications with United Commercial Realty. Glimcher Appoints Ward Kampf as SVP of Strategic Investments Glimcher Realty Trust appointed Ward Kampf as senior vice president of strategic investments. In his new position, Kampf will be responsible for finding high quality acquisition opportunities. Previously, he served as senior vice president of retail strategies with the REIT. Kampf has been with Glimcher since 2009. “As we continue to enhance the quality of our portfolio through acquisitions and redevelopment, it is essential to maintain a strong pipeline of on- and off-market deals,” said Glimcher Chairman of the Board and CEO Michael P. Glimcher in a statement. “We are pleased to have Ward focused on both discovery and execution.” Asian Supermarket Coming to Broadacres Building in Seattle H Mart signed a lease with Principal Real Estate Investors for a 15,000-sq.-ft. supermarket store at Broadacres Building in Seattle. The retailer plans to open in early 2014. KG Investment Management negotiated this transaction. Other Notable News Ross Dress For Less signed a lease for a 25,000-sq.-ft. store at Brixmor Property Group’s Montebello Plaza in Montebello, Calif. Epsteen & Associates represented Ross Dress for Less in the transaction. Gavin Gray represented Brixmor in-house. Shoe Carnival signed a lease for a 14,500-sq.-ft. store at Westheimer Commons in Houston. Geoff Henrion, of Ranger Retail Partners, represented Shoe Carnival in the transaction. Royal Hibachi Buffet signed a lease for a 12,738-sq.-ft. store at Brixmor’s High Point Centre in Lombard, Ill. Brad Ratajczak represented Brixmore in-house. Safeway will open a renovated storefront at Belle View Shopping Center in Alexandria, Va. The retailer expanded the store from 39,888 sq. ft. to 45,147 sq. ft.
