Allendale’s Atrium Earns Assisted Living Designation

NEW JERSEY—The Atrium, an Allendale Community for Mature Living property located in Allendale, has earned its assisted living residence designation by the State of New Jersey.

The fully certified apartment-rental community will now provide additional levels of assisted care and accept long-term care insurance as well as veteran’s benefits.

Built in 1989 as rental apartments for independently living older adults, The Atrium has incorporated a range of supportive services through the years to address the needs of an aging population.

In addition to health monitoring at an on-site health monitoring station and registered nurse supervision, services include help with grooming; nutritional counseling and meal-planning; medication reminders and management; and on-site physical, occupational and speech therapy. Exercise programs also are offered along with appointment reminders and local transportation.

The new certification allows the residence to accept long-term care insurance and veteran’s benefits as partial or full payment for the monthly fee, depending upon each individual’s coverage benefits and requirements.

The Atrium is one component of The Allendale Community for Mature Living, which was developed in stages beginning in 1967. The campus is physician-owned and operated and includes three full-service senior residences that bridge the gap between skilled nursing and sub acute services as well as memory care and assisted living.

The Allendale Community for Mature Living is located off Route 17 South.
