LEED-Certified Madox Opens to Prospective Tenants for Hard-Hat Tours

NEW JERSEY—Fields Development Group has opened Madox, an eco-friendly rental building at 198 Van Vorst Street in Jersey City, to potential residents for a priority waiting list and guided hard-hat tours of the property.

Nearing completion, Madox is slated for occupancy in early November.

Madox will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom residences. Some one- and two-bedroom units also include dens. Units will range from 480 to1,312 sq. ft. of space and include hardwood floors, 9-ft. ceilings, washer/dryer and master baths. Kitchens will be equipped with 42” cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, gas cooking, Caesarstone countertops and tile floor and backsplash.

The property will be the first LEED-certified residential building in Jersey City. Comprised of seven stories and 131 apartment homes, Madox rents are expected to begin at approximately $1,800 per month.

Green elements at Madox include a PV Solar Array and vegetation on the roof, electric car charging stations and systems to reduce water consumption by more than 45 percent and energy consumption by 14 percent.

Residents at the property will have access to a gym, lobby lounge with library, a business center and residents’-only lounge with play area, yoga room and kitchenette. The property will have a keyless entry system and a 24-hour doorman.

Outdoors, the property will include a landscaped courtyard with outdoor children’s play area, café seating and benches, two common eighth-floor terraces and common roof deck with hammocks and fire pit.

Valet garage parking and bicycle storage will also be available.
