Liberty Mutual Insurance Signs 10-Year, 130,000SF Lease in NYC

NEW YORK—Liberty Mutual Insurance has signed a 10-year, 130,000-sq.-ft. lease at 55 Water Street. CBRE represented the building owner, New Water Street Corp., while Cresa represented the tenant in the transaction.

Totaling 3.8 million sq. ft., 55 Water Street stands 54 stories tall and is the largest office building in New York City.

Liberty Mutual’s new lease doubles its space and spans two floors.

Following Hurricane Sandy, New Water Street Corp. invested nearly $200 million in repairs and storm-proofing measures to prevent damage from future storms.

The CBRE team representing 55 Water Street includes Mary Ann Tighe, CEO; Brad Gerla, EVP; Howard Fiddle, vice chairman; and Evan Haskel, VP.
