Metro Center Welcomes Two New Tenants, Signs More than 10,000SF in Long-term Leases

NEW YORK—Malkin Properties, marketing and management agent for Metro Center in Stamford, Conn., has signed more than 10,000 sq. ft. of leases at the property recently.

Herring Creek Capital, a hedge fund specializing in long-short strategies, has leased 7,314 sq. ft. of space at the property, while Lutetium Capital will establish its headquarters there, taking 3,405 sq. ft. of space.

Herring Creek will take occupancy of a fifth-floor space early this year for a seven-year term. Jones Lang LaSalle’s George Walker brokered the deal on behalf of the tenant, while Malkin Properties’ Jeffrey H. Newman, EVP, Kimberly Zaccagnino, senior leasing associate, and Tara Long, leasing associate represented property ownership. Malkin Construction will build out the space for Herring Creek.

Lutetium Capital will take occupancy of its space on Metro Center’s fourth floor early this year for a five-year term. The client already occupies temporary space at the property, while Malkin Construction buildings out its long-term space. The Malkin Properties team of Newman, Zaccagnino and Long represented the property ownership in the deal, while the tenant was represented by Steve Greenbush of CBRE.

Metro Center is an eight-story, 285,000-sq.-ft. office property located at the Stamford Inter-Modal Transportation Center. The property features on-going building-wide enhancements, an in-house concierge service, a dining and catering facility and fitness center. In addition, tenants have access to free, on-site parking, 24/7 card access, an on-site management office and a tenants-only shuttle to and from the Stamford Town Center.
