Online Dating Service Start-up Takes Space in Industry City

NEW YORK—Datemyschool.com, a start-up online dating service for college students, has signed an 8,500-sq.-ft. lease at Industry City’s Building 3. The company will occupy build-to-suit warehouse space and plans a non-traditional office environment to include whiteboard walls and a ping-pong table.

“We are pleased to be able to accommodate Datemyschool.com’s unique and eclectic approach to work space,” said Bruce Federman, director of real estate at Industry City Associates. “We work with each tenant to identify the best space suited to their individual requirements and devise a build-out strategy that reflects their culture.”

Industry City at Bush Terminal along Brooklyn’s Sunset Park waterfront is a complex of manufacturing, office and retail space. Built in the early 1900s, it was the largest manufacturing and distribution center in the worked. Comprised of 16 buildings, Industry City is now home to creative and innovative firms and businesses.

Datemyschool.com is an online dating site exclusively for college students that was started by two Columbia graduates. The company just completed its second round of venture capital funding.
