WeWork Signs 120,537 SF Lease for Seventh Manhattan Location

NEW YORK—WeWork, a collaborative workspace provider, has signed a long-term, 120,537-sq.-ft. lease at L&L Holding Co.’s 222 Broadway, a 32-story, 750,000-sq.-ft. office tower. Situated in Lower Manhattan, WeWork will occupy eight full floors at the property.

David Berkey and Andrew Wiener of L&L Holding Co. represented the building owner in the 16-year lease deal, while Mark Lapidus represented WeWork in-house with Jones Lang LaSalle’s Sean Black serving as consultant to the tenant.

WeWork provides flexible office space rentals for technology and new media businesses, emerging entrepreneurs, freelancers and small businesses. Its space at 222 Broadway will be the company’s seventh Manhattan location.

Owned by L&L Holding Co. in partnership with Beacon Capital Partners, 222 Broadway will undergo a series of upgrades to its lobby, elevator and ground-floor retail space. The property is in close proximity to the Fulton Street Transportation Center and the Calatrava Path Station at the World Trade Center.
