Publix to introduce new fuel/convenience store concept

Lakeland, Fla. -- Looking to grow its business, Publix Super Markets Inc. plans to introduce a combination gasoline/convenience store at select stores in Florida. The concept, titled Pix, will debut in four cities in Florida at select stores. Publix has not set a timetable for the openings of the new format, scheduled to debut at stores in Deltona, Kissimmee, Lakeland and Winter Haven. The Pix stores will sell some groceries and will range from 1,000 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft.
