Developer Buys 85 Acres of Land from Monastery for Mixed-use Community

Ashley Commercial Group bought the property, which overlooks the Ohio River.

A developer has purchased 85 acres of land from a Villa Hills monastery that overlooks the Ohio River. The Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg agreed to sell the land on Amsterdam Road to Ashley Commercial Group, based in Edgewood, for an undisclosed amount. The developer plans to build a mixed-use community on the site, just west of Villa Madonna Academy, which the sisters helped launch.
