Biggins Lacy Shapiro Launches Energy Advisory Firm

Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Co. LLC, based in Princeton, N.J., has launched SugarLoaf Associates, a new energy services advisory firm.

Timothy Comerford will spearhead the firm as senior vice president of strategic consulting. He will lead an interdisciplinary division focused on assisting companies, developers, municipalities and real estate advisers with issues related to energy procurement, renewable energy installation, utility relocation and infrastructure assessments, with a special focus on mission-critical facilities.

"The addition of Tim Comerford to the BLS team gives us the capability to broaden our energy-related services for diverse corporate and developer projects, helping clients take advantage of opportunities and manage risks in the context of evolving energy regulatory and market conditions," says Jay Biggins, executive managing director of BLS & Co.

Comerford formerly was manager of the Public Service Electric and Gas Co. area development department, and president and founder of the PSEG Area Development LLC. Under his leadership, economic development activities helped bring thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in investment into the State of New Jersey. BLS partnered with Comerford and the utility over the past 15 years on dozens of projects.

Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Co. provides expertise in “location economics,” helping plan and execute location strategies. BLS clients include Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. MetLife,T-Rowe Price, and others.
